Eckerd Connects Prevention Counseling is for students in grades 6-12 who could benefit from substance abuse and violence intervention strategies. These sessions take place weekly and involve intense character development exercises.
Creative experiences lead to true moments of discovery. To accomplish our goals, we use engaging role play, expressive arts projects, and conflict resolution workshops that result in powerful “aha moments” – and long-term transformation.
We usually work with youth in a group setting, but if a student needs one-on-one attention, we can do that, too.
If you are a middle or high school student at Brevard County Alternative Learning Centers, Eckerd Connects can help. During the summer, prevention counseling is also available to those who are not enrolled in BCAL Centers.
