Eckerd Connects’ Central LA Juvenile Justice (CLAJJ) program provides Diversion and Alternatives to Detention services to youth currently engaged with the Juvenile Court. These programs are available through referrals from FINS, DA and Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) staff.
Central LA Juvenile Justice Program was developed in partnership with the State of Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice to serve youth in Central Louisiana since 2019.
Capacity:
Diversion – 40 youth
Alternatives to Detention – 25 youth
Services Include:
Standardized Assessment
- Diversion services will use MAYSI and NCFAS
- Alternatives services will use Eckerd Success Wheel
- Both will utilize TCU Criminal Thinking Scales and Casey Life Skills Assessment
Individualized Intervention Plan
- Identify short term goals and positive consequences for achieving them
- Identify long term goals and specific steps to move toward them
- Community Engagement Events to support pro-social activities and relationships
