Success Story | Ellis
When Ellis found Eckerd Connects, he had no secondary education and little work experience. He wanted a career in sales but was unsure where to begin his journey.
He enrolled into our Workforce Development program in July 2021, after learning what we have to offer through his best friend. He was struggling with virtual school and needed an environment where the staff was around to watch over him and help him earn his diploma.

Currently enrolled in the WIOA (Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act) Program, Ellis successfully completed Work Readiness training along with receiving his credentials in Safe Staff Food Handling and NRF (National Retail Federation) Customer Service.
“Initially, I came in here for my high school diploma, but I ended up getting three different certifications!”
Ellis recently received his high school diploma and graduated from Penn Foster. While in our program, Ellis found employment at Chipotle; the credentials he earned helped him receive a raise and promotion to Assistant Manager! Ellis is now looking for a job to begin his sales career.
