Success Stories | Dylan
Dylan entered our Workforce Development Youth Program with the desire of obtaining a GED and developing transferrable work skills. He began his journey with our Paxen program after being expelled from school; he was familiar with the program because two family members were successful participants.
When asked why he chose Eckerd Connects, Dylan explained, “The public-school setting did not compliment my learning style.” Dylan continued by saying,
Eckerd Connects’ staff fostered my love for learning by encouraging me and holding me accountable. They were flexible to my needs while keeping me on track to be successful.”
During program training, Dylan earned occupational skills credentials and his GED. We recently connected him with a local nonprofit where he is learning janitorial and general maintenance skills through our work-based learning program. In addition, we have identified local technical colleges, programs, and certifications that would support his interests as an auto mechanic and maintenance technician.
Eckerd Connects | Paxen is one of the youth providers in Northwest Georgia in partnership with WorkSource Northwest Georgia. All services are funded at no cost to the participant.
