Success Stories | Amia
Amia, a 23-year-old high school drop and single parent, came to CareerSource Research looking for help earning her diploma and finding a career. Amia was enrolled in the YouthBuild program in October 2018.
While in the program, she learned a lot about working in a team environment and relying on others. She worked hard earning her First Aid/CPR, OSHA -10, and NCCER certifications. Amia wasn’t done! She enrolled in Penn Foster training and earned her High School Diploma this year! She wanted to show her child that she could achieve anything she put her mind to.
After being a part of YouthBuild and the Youth Connections program, and witnessing firsthand the impact these programs have on a person’s life, Amia has decided to pursue a career in Social Services. She will begin classes at Indian River State College in the upcoming semester. Amia plans to make a difference in the world, and we know she will!
