Slow and Steady Wins the Race
Resilience is the ability to adapt well to adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or even significant sources of stress. It can also help youth manage stress and feelings of anxiety and uncertainty. Exposing youth to opportunities to help others teaches them to nurture a positive self-view, maintain their goals, and seek opportunities for self-discovery.
Meet Gabriel H.! Gabriel has been a part of the Project Bridge family for some time now. With the odds against him, Gabriel has proven to be resilient and determined to be the best version of himself.
Since enrolling in Project Bridge, he has completed over 35 hours of community service at the Central Brevard Sharing Center and continues volunteering himself for other Restorative Justice events. His most recent give back was providing a meal and winter needs to the homeless in Brevard County. Because of Gabriel’s commitment to positive change, Gabriel was recently recognized as one of Project Bridge’s superstars. Gabriel truly has the heart to help others. When asked what drives him to serve, he said, “Others need so much more than more than I do”.
Gabriel is currently employed and is studying to obtain his GED. Once he turns 18 in March of 2024, he wants to begin taking official tests.
KEEP SHOOTING FOR THE STARS GABRIEL!
