Shining Stars in the Workforce

Keshira Smith and Beatriz Belliard-Peña, past Forward March graduates from different cohorts, but now working for the same CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion employer, in the same capacity as a Customer Service Technician!

 

Keshira Smith – “Being a part of the Forward March Program has molded me into the young adult I am today. It has taught me a lot about writing resumes, interacting with others and team building. I will always be grateful for having the opportunity to be a part of an awesome program.”

 

Beatriz Belliard-Peña – “After been almost one year looking for a job without any results, one day I got a call from someone at CTAE’s office (now MTC) giving me information about the program and saying that I qualified to enroll in it, so I said ok; I don’t have anything to lose right? I must say that in many ways, my life has been marked as “before” and “after” the Forward March Program, not only I made friends, but I felt like a completely new person after the graduation.  I felt prepared and convinced that I was going to get a job. I learned how to be a team player, what to say, and what not to say during a job interview and also how to target a resume for the position that I was interested in. I am grateful that I had a great coach, as Ms. Mindy during those four weeks became a true friend for all of us. At first I knew that I wasn’t going to lose anything by enrolling in the program, but I didn’t have an idea on how much I was going to earn at the end. I got hired at CareerSource CLM and thanks to Forward March, I know what I have to do to be a good employee, and get noticed in the workplace.”
