Providers: Transgender Homeless Youth Need Better Support in Asheville

Transgender homeless youth recently spoke on a panel to discuss their challenges in finding services and safe shelter in the more rural parts of Western North Carolina. About 50 people came to the event held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in downtown Asheville. Providers including Trinity Place Youth Shelter, ran by CARING for Children, were also in attendance to discuss better ways to serve this vulnerable population.
