Million Dollar Grant Helps Underserved Youth in Florida
Eckerd Connects’ Workforce Development team is proud to share that the Department of Labor (DOL) awarded our strategic partner, CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion (CLM) its fifth grant for the Phoenix Rising YouthBuild Program.
Phoenix Rising YouthBuild was developed through a partnership with CareerSource CLM, Eckerd Connects Workforce Development, Habitat for Humanity, and other local organizations. Together, we help transform young lives by working with eligible youth ages 18 to 24, providing a blend of classroom and hands-on training. Students learn how to build homes and can also earn their high school diplomas, gain leadership skills, and prepare for postsecondary education, apprenticeships, or employment. This win-win program produces affordable housing for the area.
