Eckerd Connects launched its first town hall meeting on June 13, to share with the local community its newest program in that region, the Opportunity Youth Program. This program will provide youth ages 16-24 in Rapides and Vernon parishes support to address barriers to success in education and employment opportunities.
This project is funded in part by a Reconnecting Cenla Program Grant from The Rapides Foundation to engage, empower and energize opportunities for youth.
“I came to this meeting because I feel like it was an opportunity for me to learn how to further my education and be financially stable as a young adult. I felt like it would give me an opportunity to be noticed and recognized as a young adult because I feel like young adults nowadays get overlooked.” – Dajaun Patton
