
Martin joined Eckerd Connects in 2008 and currently serves as the Chief of Staff and General Counsel. He plans and directs administrative and operational activities for the President and CEO in addition to coordinating and managing critical issues such as board engagement, government affairs, information technology, media relations, and facility services. In his capacity as General Counsel, Martin’s portfolio includes a wide variety of legal projects such as contract review and formation, leading enterprise risk management functions, and advising the Eckerd Connects leadership team on various legal and regulatory issues.
Martin has served in a variety of executive roles for the organization including Interim Chief External Relations Officer, where he was responsible for raising over $1.6M in private philanthropy and $1M in legislative appropriations to provide quality programming for the clients served by Eckerd Connects. Martin has also held various roles in operations, facilities management, procurement, contract management, and external relations. This multi-disciplinary background has provided him with a strong understanding of the many programs and services provided by Eckerd Connects.
A lifelong learner, Martin has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Juris Doctor degree. While in law school, Martin was selected for a coveted internship with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida. Martin also holds two graduate degrees – a master’s in public health degree from Johns Hopkins University where he was a Bloomberg Public Health Fellow and an LL.M. degree in Business Law with a concentration in Employment Law and Human Resources Risk Management from Florida State University College of Law.
Outside of his professional responsibilities at Eckerd Connects, Martin also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Liberty University – School of Law.
