Martin joined Eckerd Connects in 2008 and currently serves as the Chief of Staff and General Counsel. In this role, Martin plans and directs administrative and operational activities for the President and CEO as well as coordinating and managing critical issues such as board engagement, government affairs, and media relations. Additionally, Martin advises the Eckerd Connects leadership team on various legal and regulatory matters.
Martin has previously served in a variety of executive roles for the organization including Interim Chief External Relations Officer, where he was responsible for raising over $1.6M in private philanthropy and $1M in legislative appropriations to provide quality programming for the children, young adults, and families served by Eckerd Connects. Martin has also held various roles in facilities management, procurement, contract management, external relations, and within Eckerd Connects’ child welfare community-based care lead agency. This multi-disciplinary background has provided Martin with a strong understanding of the many functions and programs of Eckerd Connects.
A lifelong learner, Martin earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Juris Doctor degree. While in law school, Martin was selected for a coveted internship with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida. Martin was chosen as a Bloomberg Fellow at The Johns Hopkins University where he earned his Master of Public Health degree with a focus on risks to adolescent health in 2021.
