KDOC celebrates first year, expansion of new Juvenile Justice program

PITTSBURG – For hundreds of juvenile offenders in Kansas, a new program set to go statewide could be life-changing.

For the past year, Eckerd Kids has been accepting referrals for juveniles to participate in Functional Family Therapy (FFT). The referrals have come from only seven Southeast Kansas judicial districts in the state, but that will soon change.

New legislation and dedicated state funding will ensure that all judicial districts in Kansas will be able to refer juvenile offenders and their families to the program.
