Alvinique

Alvinique came to the program after her two-year old son had been removed from her care. She was struggling with mental health issues and needed help developing parenting skills that focused on improving child development. She was refereed to Eckerd Kids’ supervised family visitation service.

The Eckerd Supervised Family Time Counselor emphasized the importance of creating a support system, which Alvinique began to build. Over the course of six months in the program, she completed all three phases while maintaining a positive attitude. She was always open to feedback and consistently demonstrated affection and care for her son.

Alvinique was reunified with her son in January 2014. She still keeps in regular contact with her Eckerd Kids counselor and currently reports that she and her son are doing well.
