Changing Lives One Campfire at a Time

Girls are taught important life skills at Eckerd E-Nini-Hassee, a 840-acre therapeutic school for girls in Floral City, FL. They practice assertive communication, setting boundaries and healthy ways to express emotions, even painful ones. There’s a sense of community, and even sisterhood, among the students.

“We give them an opportunity to let go of all those onion layers. A kid gets to be a kid again,” Executive Director Joy Lynn Smith said.
