450 people donate to Eckerd Connects through Jolly Trolley

More than 450 people boarded chartered buses on Pinellas County’s Treasure Island in the name of charity this holiday season.

Their goal was to bring Christmas cheer to as many teens living in foster care as possible. By the end of the night’s festivities,  75 wishlists had been filled and $9,000 donated.

“This annual event started as a birthday party 11 years ago,” explained Shantel Griffin, the Jolly Trolley Charities founder. “We had 45 people that year. It’s amazing how much it’s caught on since then, and how much good we’ve been able to do through Eckerd Connects. Teens in foster care don’t get the attention they deserve during the holidays. We love being able to do this for them.”
