17-year-old Project Bridge youth lands job, talks college

Life is all about steps.

For 17-year-old Savannah Dorsey-Carter, step No. 1 in achieving her goals was landing a job at McDonald’s.

Now, the former Project Bridge participant is preparing to start college in the fall. It’s a feat the team at Project Bridge in Brevard County, Fla., is thrilled to see her reach.

“While she was in our program, Savannah took every step to succeed,” said Melvin Guzman, a program manager at Project Bridge. “We couldn’t be happier for her.”

According to staffers, Savannah took full advantage of the many services available to her at Project Bridge, getting involved in everything from community service projects to mentoring opportunities.

Congratulations to Savannah – and the team at Project Bridge for helping another youth get their second chance.
