Teshanairy, 19, lands job with guidance from CareerSource

As determined as she is cheerful, when Teshanairy Vazquez, 19, arrived at Eckerd Workforce Development program, she already knew exactly where she wanted her career to go.

According to her mentors, the bright and bubbly young adult has a passion for working with children.

“Teshanairy is a smart young lady,” said Shannon Mills, a career coach at CareerSource in Citrus, Levy and Marion counties. “She’s very driven. We’re just proud to have been able to assist her.”

While enrolled at CareerSource, Teshanairy took every step necessary to achieve her goals, successfully completing her Work Readiness Training, as well as her NRF Customer Service Training, and 45-Hour DCF Child Care Training.

Following her course work, Teshanairy was given the opportunity to complete a 12-week paid work experience at New Beginnings Childcare and Learning Center.

Apparently, her hard work during the program paid off. The internship resulted in a full-time position.

“I am so happy,” said Teshaniary.
