Alyssa came into our program wanting a career change. She previously was selling insurance and wanted to get into the medical field but did not know where to start. She heard about the Eckerd Connects program through a friend and decided to give this program a try.
Alyssa saw the opportunity and decided to take advantage of the Certified Nursing Assistant and Phlebotomy training program offered by the Baker County Adult Ed. Alyssa enrolled in CNA training on January 5, 2021, and completed the Florida Prometric CNA state exam on March 31, 2021, now making her a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Florida.
Upon completing CNA training, Alyssa agreed to do an 8-week work experience opportunity with Dr. Lee at Pareto Clinic in Jacksonville FL as a Medical Office Administrator. Alyssa did such a fantastic job on her work experience opportunity that our partner Dr. Lee decided to hire her as one of his employees.
Alyssa has expressed that signing up for the Eckerd Connects Workforce Development program has been one of the best decisions that she has ever made. She is so grateful that Eckerd Connects was able to help her with this new transition and her plan is to enroll in college so that she could one day become a Registered Nurse.
