When Christopher connected with Eckerd Connects’ Family Services, he was navigating one of the most difficult seasons of his life—full custody of his two children, employment changes in the aerospace industry, and the sudden loss of stable housing.

Despite working in a demanding role building rockets on Florida’s Space Coast, ongoing court requirements and financial strain made it difficult to maintain stability. After a job loss, Christopher did whatever he could to support his children, including rideshare work and multiple jobs, but eventually faced eviction and housing instability.

Throughout every challenge, Christopher leaned heavily on his faith in God as his foundation. Even during periods of shelter living and temporary housing, he remained committed to raising his children in faith—attending church, serving in the community, and creating moments of worship and connection together.

Christopher’s breakthrough came through coordinated support between his Family Promise caseworker, The Grove Church, and Eckerd Connects. Through coordination with a willing landlord and the provision of move-in assistance, Eckerd Connects Family Services helped Christopher secure safe, stable housing for his family. Ultimately, with advocacy, resource navigation, and landlord collaboration, he was connected to a fully furnished, move-in-ready home—an opportunity he described as life-changing.

Today, Christopher continues working toward long-term stability, including reliable transportation and returning to the aerospace field where he previously built his career. Through it all, he remains anchored in faith.

“Put God first, put your children second, and keep going, shared Christopher, “Trust that the people God places in your life are there for a reason.”

His story reflects resilience, community partnership, and a deep belief that faith can carry a family through even the most uncertain seasons.
