Success Stories | Christopher
Christopher was struggling in high school due to his mother having some health issues that took a lot of his attention. He inquired about our Eckerd Connects’ Workforce Development program in the summer of 2021 and was officially enrolled in the program in early October of that year.
As a program participant, Christopher experienced a variety of career readiness workshops and lessons while he learned important life skills, both formally and experientially. His workshops spanned personal money management, career exploration, and employment skills.
After quickly earning his High School Diploma, Christopher eventually sought employment at AutoZone in Deland, FL, and is also in the process of taking on employment with Hibbett Sports in the same area.
Once his employment with AutoZone was verified by staff, Christopher successfully became Youth Positive Outcome (YPO) and completed our program with his diploma and a job.
Next, Christopher is interested in attending Northwest Lineman College in Edgewater, FL to pursue a career as an electrical lineman working on utility poles, telecommunications, and/or energy electric cables.
