Savannah (Age 17)
Savannah came to the Eckerd Connects’ Acadiana Wraparound Program because she was struggling academically and needed support. Savannah had a difficult childhood going from one foster home to another, at risk of running away. Eventually she became pregnant and realized she was now responsible for her baby and that’s when things changed for the better.
When Savannah began services with Eckerd Connects’ Wraparound program, she instantly connected with the people she needed to shift her focus to her education, health, and good decision-making. She became a stellar student, often earning
her recognition as the student of the week. This resilient young lady is now in a foster home where she feels safe and has the confidence to know that she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to. With impending parental leave, Savannah will be shifting to virtual school and needed tools to ensure her success. Thanks to the Eckerd Connects Success Awards, Savannah received a new laptop computer.
