Eckerd Connects’ Homelessness Prevention program—through Brevard Family Support Services—supports children and families in Brevard County, Florida, who are experiencing homelessness or are on the brink of housing loss. Our mission is to provide immediate assistance and promote long-term stability by addressing urgent needs while helping families build a sustainable path forward. Through financial support, personalized case management, and strong community connections, we work alongside families to reduce housing instability, strengthen resilience, and keep children safely housed and supported.

What Makes It Unique?
Our program goes beyond temporary relief. Families receive one-on-one support from dedicated case managers, called family coaches, who actively help secure housing, access resources, and build skills for long-term success. We also partner with Brevard County schools to ensure that students experiencing homelessness can maintain academic performance and stay involved in extracurricular activities.

Eligibility
To qualify, families must meet the following criteria:
- Reside in Brevard County, FL
- Have a history of substance abuse
- Be currently experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness (such as receiving a 3-day eviction notice)
- Have an income source
Submission Instructions
Completed forms may be:
- Emailed to BrevardHousing@eckerd.org
- Faxed to (321) 208-7589
- Delivered in person to our Rockledge, FL office
Once a full application packet is received, families will be contacted by a case manager within 2–3 business days. Please note: Clients requesting move-in assistance must have an identified landlord and submit the completed Form W9. Payments are issued 10–14 days after submission and sent directly to the landlord or utility company.
