Ribbon Cutting of New Eckerd Program in Charlotte

On Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 2:30 p.m., Eckerd will celebrate the opening of its new program to provide post-adoption services in the Charlotte area with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services (DSS) has chosen Eckerd to provide post-adoption services in the Charlotte area inclusive of seven counties within Region 4. The contract valued of $181K gives Eckerd the opportunity to serve an additional 55 families and an estimated 68 more children annually.

The overall goal of this program is to help adoptive families find parenting solutions and quality services within their home communities. Through private-public partnerships, North Carolina children and families are provided the best support services possible in order to ensure successful and lasting adoptions.

Eckerd has been providing services in North Carolina since 1977 with individualized treatment plans that include wrap-around services, evidence-based interventions, and family support through a network of community resources designed to strengthen the family unit and promote eventual self-sufficiency.

Refreshments will be served during the ceremony.
