Mr. Sam Kolapo has over 25 years of Job Corps leadership experience. A proven Center Director for over 12 years, Mr. Kolapo has served in various centers including Gulfport, Bamberg, Gainesville, Albuquerque, and Little Rock. Recently he served as Center Director for Pinellas County Job Corps Center in St. Petersburg, Florida and was a member of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and St. Petersburg WIOA Board. Currently, he is the Center Director for the Albuquerque Job Corps Center in New Mexico.
Mr. Kolapo began his Job Corps career as an academic instructor and progressively earned the positions of Career Counselor, Academic and Vocational Manager, Student Support Manager, Career Services Manager, Career Development Director, Deputy Director, and ultimately Center Director. Mr. Kolapo understands all facets of center operations and management.
As Center Director at Albuquerque Job Corps Center, he is responsible for the oversight
and overall management of the career development services program serving 327 students. He provides strong leadership with a focus on the students and understands that meeting the needs of our customers (students, employers, and Department of Labor) is the key to success. He develops a professional and safe environment in which students can learn appropriate work skills and behaviors, including development of personal responsibility especially in the requirements of safety.
Mr. Kolapo attended the University of North Florida and graduated with a master’s degree in Industrial Education.
