Glenn Waters is Executive Vice President/COO of BayCare’s Hospital Division, which consists of 11 not-for-profit hospitals and 3,431 licensed beds across Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk and Pinellas counties.

Waters is responsible for operations, strategic planning and clinical integration of BayCare’s hospitals. He was named hospital division president in 2013 after five years as president of Morton Plant Mease Health Care where he earned a reputation as a forward-thinking, strategic leader.

Under Waters’ leadership, Morton Plant Mease launched major transformations of its hospital campuses to meet the growing needs of the community, received numerous national recognitions for quality of care, brought innovative procedures and services to its patients, and expanded community outreach through education and partnerships emphasizing health and wellness. Waters also guided the development of BayCare’s first, system-wide oncology strategy and provided executive leadership for BayCare Behavioral Health, the Tampa Bay area’s largest provider of mental health and substance abuse services.

Before joining Morton Plant Mease, Waters was the chief operating officer at Moses Cone Health System in Greensboro, North Carolina. There, Waters oversaw the development of a freestanding, outpatient cardiac catheterization joint venture with cardiologists and the planning of a $275 million expansion of its flagship hospital.

Waters received his Master of Hospital Administration from the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College. He is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.
