Success Awards: Jaylon
“I want to say thank you to everyone at Eckerd Connects for their support and help to my mental health.”
Achievements: Learned to control aggressive behavior; Regained better relationships with his sisters; Jaylon had a 2.5 average GPA in the third quarter.
At the time Jaylon entered Eckerd Connects’ Louisiana Wraparound Services, he was acting aggressively towards his sisters, and harming himself. He went from earning straight A grades to dropping to Cs. He suffered from separation anxiety from his mother, who works overtime to support her four children. A loving team formed to help teach Jaylon how to better cope with his anger and frustration.
Jaylon quickly connected with his counselor and in just six months into the program, he is a different person. At home, he is no longer verbally or physically aggressive. Instead, he does his chores, and his sisters say he has been on his best behavior. His angry outbursts have diminished to a manageable level and his grades are improving. Thanks to the Eckerd Connects’ Success Awards, Jaylon’s wish for a PlayStation 5 came true. He says it is helping to further improve his relationship with his sisters.
