From Setbacks to Spotlights: Meet Our Project Bridge Youth Ambassadors!

When Solymar and Shannel joined Eckerd Connects’ Project Bridge, they never imagined their personal growth would one day be recognized on TV. But today, their inspiring journeys were featured on WESH-TV with Jason Guy—and we couldn’t be prouder!

Solymar came in ready to rewrite her story. With life skills training, adult education, and a passion to give back, she earned her GED, enrolled in barbering school, and is set to graduate later this year.

Shannel sought stability and found success. With the support of her career coach, she earned multiple certifications, landed a job, and rose to management at Burger King—all while attending Miami Dade College to pursue a Business degree.

Their hard work and resilience were honored when they were named 2025 Youth Ambassadors by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice—and their voices were heard across the state today.
