Former Interim Secretary of Florida DCF Joins Eckerd Connects
Child welfare veteran Rebecca Kapusta has joined the Eckerd Connects Community-Based Care leadership team. Kapusta will step in as leader of Eckerd’s Hillsborough County lead agency and will be responsible for the day to day operations, coordination of the agency’s network of services providers, and achieving the outcomes and performance standards that have already been established.
Kapusta is an attorney by profession and has most recently served as the Interim Secretary of the Florida Department of Children and Families after a distinguished 17-year career at DCF. She also served as Assistant Secretary of Operations and General Counsel in addition to holding positions in the Suncoast Region Office.

Kapusta is well known and respected throughout the state of Florida as a child advocate and innovator in addressing the myriad of challenges facing the child welfare system. She also coaches her daughter’s softball team and resides in Tampa.
