Eckerd Kids sends a big ‘Thank You’ to Keeping it Real Outreach Ministry

Dee and Mozell Axson have a heart for troubled youth.

As the founders of Keeping it Real Outreach Ministry,  the couple aims to bring love and understanding to at risk teens — a mission that makes them a smart match for Project Bridge.

“The Axson’s are great people to work with,” said Melvin Guzman, the program manager for Project Bridge in Hardee, Highlands, and Polk counties. “We’ve had a number of our participants mentored by their ministry. It’s always a great experience for our youth.”

At Keeping it Real Outreach Ministry, the focus is on bringing hope, vision, and wisdom into the lives of of young people.  In addition to keeping kids out of trouble, the organization also assists with job referrals via Polk Works, employment training and interview preparation.

Over the course of their partnership with Project Bridge, Keeping it Real has hosted a number of youth for weekly Sunday mentoring sessions. Their dedication has made a difference in the lives of many.
