DCF Safety Net Can’t Fail Children, No-Longer-Interim Secretary Mike Carroll Says

On December 8, 2014 Florida Governor Rick Scott named DCF Interim Secretary Mike Carroll the permanent head of the department. Carroll with the help of Eckerd developed Eckerd Rapid Safety Feedback® after nearly a dozen Tampa area children died while their cases were being investigated by child welfare . Now, a computer system can immediately flag high risk families.  Ron Zychowski, Eckerd’s Chief of Quality and Program Performance, also is quoted in the article about his past experience working with Carroll.
