El Paso, TX — On Monday, July 26 the David L. Carrasco Job Corps Center announced Doe Attipoe as the new Center Director. Attipoe is set to make significant improvements at Carrasco as the campus continues to launch its new virtual enrollment program and slowly, steadily bring students back on center.

Attipoe is an experienced Job Corps leader with over 20 years of strategic, operational and oversight practical knowledge and management. Prior to joining the David L. Carrasco team, Attipoe served as Center Director at the Denison Job Corps campus in Iowa. He has strong leadership skills as it relates to enhancing, improving, and maximizing blended and distance learning, student retention and overall campus performance.

“It is an honor to have been selected to lead the David L. Carrasco Job Corps Center,” Attipoe said. “My job is to listen first and then to partner with the El Paso community to prepare the next generation of young workers to meet employment demands and keep this great momentum going. I look forward working with the team to meet the needs of all our customers – students and local and regional employers.”

Since December 2020, the David L. Carrasco Job Corps Center has been offering on-campus hybrid learning (virtual and in-person classes) to students that were near, prior to COVID-19, completion from Job Corps, as well as young men and women that need safe and dependable residential services. Now, small cohorts of new students may participate in the David L. Carrasco Job Corps Center by enrolling virtually and completing a 60-day virtual enrollment program of training online. The virtual enrollment program provides new students a unique opportunity with greater flexibility to gain access to Job Corps’ holistic and comprehensive education offerings and career planning online.

After successfully participating online for 60 days, the David L. Carrasco Job Corps Center will fully integrate students into a residential setting to begin academic classes and job skills instruction. Last week, the first cohort of students completed the 60-day virtual enrollment program and began a 14-day quarantine period to ensure the health and safety of both students and staff.
