The Amazing Race for Second Chances

SPRING HILL, FLORIDA — On Saturday, March 25 teams paired off into twos to trek across Hernando County for The 3rd Annual Amazing Race.

The family-friendly event ended exactly where it began, at Monti Magills in Spring Hill. Before a winner could be named though, the teams were presented with challenges that took them to several area businesses and landmarks, including Papa Joe’s and Chinsegut Hill

Ten teams — comprised of adventure-seekers of all ages — competed in the race.

“This year we had younger children participate, and they had a blast,” said Facility Administrator Patrick Girdner. “It was great to see.”

All proceeds from the race went to benefit Eckerd’s Youth Challenge Program in Brooksville. The funds raised will be put towards youth activities, clothing needs, and the renovations to the facility’s basketball court.
