Have you ever tried to tell a child to wait? A month seems like an eternity. There are children in our programs waiting for the court to approve their adoption so they can have a forever family. The one last step is the home and child evaluation. We call it a “home study.”

Even during the Covid crisis, these parents got right up to the finish line. Now, with the economy just starting to come back, many families are running short, needing between $800 and $1,500 per child to complete their adoption. These costs cover home studies, therapist child interviews, and final fees.

He was defiant, rebellious, and disrespectful, acting out because of the situations he’d been through.

No child should have to go through what he did. He felt alone - that is, until he met Meghan and Travis Ten Brink.

Eckerd Connects provides a pathway for children in need to find a forever family. We care for the children through the foster care system while seeking loving adoptive parents.
