Athena Binikos-Brom, Principal
Ms. Binikos-Brom holds an MA in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida; a BS in English Education from the University of South Florida; and an AS in Liberal Arts from St. Petersburg College. She provides substantial support to Eckerd Connects by assisting the organization’s leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining quality educational programs and services. She leads the School Improvement Planning process, as well, for the parent company, Eckerd Connects.
Christopher T. Bauernfeind, Assistant Principal
Mr. Bauernfeind holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education California the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a Principal’s Certification in Pennsylvania. He currently serves Eckerd Connects | Academy as an expert in the implementation of the Edgenuity curriculum. He engages in coaching teachers and serves as a regional school administrator for all North Carolina Eckerd Connects campuses. His hands-on mentoring is invaluable in the implementation of ECA’s curriculum.

Eckerd Connects | Academy is a registered private school in Florida, any complaints against the school should be filed with the Florida Department of Education. Even though the Florida Department of Education does not license, approve, accredit or regulate private schools in Florida. Section 1002.421, Florida Statutes, does require the Department of Education to establish a process by which individuals may notify the department of any violation by a parent, private school, or school district of state laws relating to scholarship program participation.
